The world should recognize the efforts made by Sudan in bringing peace to its southern region, now an independent state, and normalize relations with Khartoum, state media on Thursday quoted a senior Chinese diplomat as saying.
So, after a few decades of slaughtering people on the borderlands, the Sudanese government let some slip away. So we should reward them.
To explain, Sudan is now a slightly truncated version of its former awful self. And don't think that South Sudan is out of the woods yet, given that the Sudan dictatorship is still on their border and oil is at stake.
