What's the Rush to Break Their Necks?

Why is the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in such a hurry to eradicate the Uighurs?

China has an undeserved reputation for long-range planning. I think it is a matter of being risk averse and patient. I mean, the CCP plan was to support North Korea to drive South Korea to advanced weapons production capabilities?

But for those who believe that genetically unique magical planning ability is true, why is the CCP so eager to quickly reach a final solution for their Uighur "problem?"

Over the past several years, researchers have uncovered a network of Uighur internment camps and the systematic forced sterilizations of Uighur women. These grim discoveries confirm that Beijing is intent on absolute power in the region. The push is led by Xinjiang Communist Party secretary Chen Quanguo, who previously quelled unrest in Tibet.

“In some ways, it’s the logical evolution and culmination of the ethnic policy and domestic government approach,” Adrian Zenz, a senior fellow in China studies at the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, told National Review. Zenz is a leading researcher and analyst of key documents that detail the operation and methods of the crackdown on the Uighur population. These include the China Cables and the Karakax List, collections of classified Chinese government documents leaked to outside sources.

When Beijing began its systematic crackdown on Uighurs in Xinjiang in 2009, Zenz said, “they figured out, well, instead of just having a long-term police state we’re really going to change those people. We’re going to break their necks.”

This horror has been going on a while and is seemingly being kicked into higher gear lately:

The Chinese government has deployed a mass sterilization campaign against Muslim ethnic minorities in the country's western provinces, according to a new report, which argues the tactics could amount to genocide.

Is China trying to crush internal opposition no matter how small because the CCP thinks it is ruling on borrowed time?

We're getting to the point when every nation that says it cares about human rights should transfer their recognition of official China from the People's Republic of China to the Republic of China on Taiwan.

UPDATE: The CCP is apparently scared witless that our HHS secretary is to visit the ROC. Why?
