God bless them, the Canadians are having none of that. Their foreign minister, John Baird, defended Canadian domestic policies and also said:
There are, what, 193 members of the U.N.? I think most Canadians would think that spending 11 days in Canada on this issue - his time would be better spent elsewhere.
Of course, they didn't say children were starving, or anything. The article mentions "food insecurity," which I'm highly suspicious of as a concept with any real world relevance. In Canada, "food insecurity" probably means being more than three blocks from a Tim Hortons.
I really hope the foreign minister's retort was delivered in French, as well.
