Buying organic food can sometimes be similar to posting a link to a cause on Facebook: It's a way to pat yourself on the back for an act of faux altruism. A new study confirms what we've long known -- those self-satisfied folks who buy kombucha and frequently go to farmers markets are more inclined to be pretentious, self-righteous jerks because they buy organic.
I've never, ever, ever encountered that attitude ...
But, it is a study. So the science is settled, I suppose. Although couldn't it just be that more people who are jerks in the first place buy organic food?
