I've mentioned before the oddities of the statistics difference between Blogger stats and my Sitemeter statistics. Blogger shows many more hits (2 or 3 times as many--or more--from day to day).
And the details are different, too. Sitemeter provides much more detailed views of use that are often interesting. But what it misses is interesting, too. The last week I've had a lot of Hungarian visitors. Why, I don't know, since I don't really write much related to Hungary. But my grandpa (who was born in the Austro-Hungarian Empire) would be happy, I'm sure. Sitemeter captures none of this activity.
I remain puzzled. It would be nice if Blogger internal statistics provided the same type of detail as Sitemeter. For now, both remain useful despite the limitations of each.
UPDATE: A possible explanation is that Hungary holds the EU rotating chairmanship and perhaps Libya posts are of interest there. Hard to say.
