A Fistful of Guv'ment Dollars

Steyn takes aim at cowboy poet subsidies:

Why does any of this require national subsidies managed by a distant bureaucracy thousands of miles away?

Well, because these days, what doesn’t? Once upon a time, the cowboy embodied the rugged individualism of the frontier. In Harry Reid’s world, he embodies dependency without end.

I see by the link name above (http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/261992/brokeback-mountain-debt-mark-steyn) that NRO editors thought better of his title.

Thankfully, I have no editors to get in the way of juvenile word play on the issue.
