From Scratch

Lamb made her first cookies from scratch at her new baking station.

We didn't have time to do the full project as well as color Easter eggs. So instead of a triple layer cookie with candies in a hollow center cookie piece, Lamb made "moon pie" style cookies with a layer of marshmallow cream in between. The cookie dough and icing were home-made and Lamb added icing and sprinkle decoration accents (with purchased stuff) and melted chocolate.

We didn't have corn syrup, so we substituted cane sugar vanilla syrup that I have for ice coffee (as if I'll ever need that again, with an endless winter still dogging our heels).

They turned out good. Although I just had one smaller one that wasn't made to be a moon pie cookie.

We lost track of time and the cookies were probably in a minute too long, but fortunately that did not wreck the cookies. Probably because they were thicker than the recipe assumed for the triple layer cookie pieces.

The special cookie with eyes was made for Lamb's younger cousin, Very.

So a baking success!
