Apparently, this is not appropriate for a diplomat:
The top U.S. diplomat for Europe apologized Thursday for comments about the European Union that were — to put it lightly — undiplomatic.
“F--- the E.U.,” Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland said in a private telephone call that was intercepted and leaked online.
My first thought was that Nuland is obviously a hold over from the Bush administration. One of those un-nuanced souls from whose grip our foreign relations must be restored.
My second thought was that I probably won't be considered as a replacement.
