Don't Ask, Don't Tell

The problem with President Obama saying that Governor Romney is calling for unnecessary spending not even requested by the Pentagon is that President Obama told the Pentagon to stop asking for that money.

In our system of civilian control of the military, our military chiefs can't tell us that our president told them not to ask for more money for defense. It's up to others to point out that the president is hiding behind our generals and admirals.
