Motive and Opportunity

So the Gaza flotilla won't sail from Greece:

Organizers of a Gaza-bound flotilla say they have not abandoned their plans despite a Greek government ruling that bars vessels from leaving Greek ports for the Palestinian territory.

If the plight of the Palestinians in Gaza is so dire, why won't the flotilla organizers sail for Egypt, unload their supplies, and ship them overland to Gaza? Egypt does allow crossings, after all.

Sure, Israel will let supplies without military value through, too, but I'm not expecting those people deeply concerned about the welfare of Palestinians to subject themselves to that indignity. I mean, really, come in contact with Jews? Even progressive humanitarians must have limits, mustn't they?

But still, there is that Egypt route that could be used without worrying about confrontation with Israel. Yet the flotilla people won't do that, and instead will sit with their supplies until they can figure out a way to head directly for Gaza.

So if the mostly European Leftists and Progressives aren't motivated by the desire to actually help the Palestinians by delivering humanitarian supplies that they insist Palestinians desperately need but for the vile Israelis, what could their motivation be to let Palestinians suffer just to take a poke at Israel?

Oh yeah! They hate Jews and America! This explanation at least squares with the facts visible.

UPDATE: The Dutch are starting to notice motives, actually.
