The European Union hates America and it hates democracy. It should be American policy to kill this proto-empire in its crypt before it does real damage to America and Europe itself.
European Union top diplomat Kaja Kallas warned on Wednesday of a possible attack by Russia in the coming years.
"Many of our national intelligence agencies are giving us the information that Russia could test EU's readiness to defend itself in three to five years," she said, addressing the annual conference of the European Defence Agency in Brussels.
"Russia is not the problem for some, but for all of us. Europeans need to wake up," she urged.
Moscow currently spends almost five times more on defence than the EU, Kallas added and called for an increase in spending.
"Europe's failure to invest in military capabilities also sends a dangerous signal to the aggressor. Weakness invites them in."
This claim on spending is so misleading that is indistinguishable from a lie. The EU may spend little on defense compared to Russia, but European nations in the EU who are also members of NATO do in fact spend much more on defense than Russia. Add in America, Canada, and Britain who are NATO members but not in the EU, and you have a sound foundation for the defense of Europe through NATO. Kallas wants to divert the money to the EU bureaucracy--which Kallas misleading calls "Europe" as if the EU and Europe are synonymous. She and her ilk will lie to achieve that convergence.
And Americans who talk about how Europe should do more to defend itself should be careful about whether "Europe" means the EU or European states under the America-led NATO. If we get the former, don't assume "Europe" won't consider America the threat it must defend against.
The EU could complement NATO but the EU wants to destroy NATO in order to eject American influence from Europe. It's all part of the EU plan to gather power in order to strip away the pesky prefix of their proto-imperial entity.
