"Europe" as a political rather than geographic term is something that should horrify Americans and Europeans.
Some European Union (EU) throne sniffer (via Insanity Wrap) dreams of an EU federation composed of (border-breaking) regions rather than nation-state members:
I have a dream:
All european #regions united in #diversity, equality & human rightsđź’™ [EU flag emoji]
(The graphic it‘s not perfect but the European Federation is the future #Europe)
Behold my prophecy, as I report on how the EU encourages regional separatism:
If larger states have difficulty moving the central proto-state, how will little specks on the map have any impact at all? Only the nation-states smart enough not to subdivide will retain any influence at all. But they will likely be swamped by population numbers. And who will be smart enough to resist the lure of their own flag!
There could be a Flemish Oblast and a Walloon Oblast to join with scores of other administrative entities.
This is classic divide and conquer.
Consider this incentive to divide a feature of the European Union rather than a bug. The Brussels transnational elites will laugh all the way to their new undemocratic empire while the silly people atomize their once-influential nation-states into little ethnic theme parks.
Let the people have their postage stamps and flags, the EU overlords likely think! The power will lie in Brussels, and who will be large enough to stop them?
Also, the author says the EU will be a "federation"? No. This "dream" is how the proto-empire will strip away the inconvenient prefix by blurring the difference between geographic Europe (good) and political Europe (bad). All while pretending to "save" Europeans from themselves.
America should (quietly, so as not to offend anyone) work to oppose this potential threat to America. Relying on Fortress America dooms us to massive defense spending because we could be virtually alone.
Europeans shouldn't want this either, if they value freedom. Don't follow the latest man on a white horse pursuing this nightmare. It is pro-European to oppose the EU.
