Sistani backs reform:
The United Nations' top official in Iraq and the country's most senior cleric urged authorities on Monday to get "serious" about reforms after anti-government demonstrations that have left hundreds dead.
Iran's proxies are the forces doing the killing because in part the protesters (correctly) see Iran's hand in Iraqi corruption and are protesting Iranian influence as much as economic conditions because of the corruption.
Iraq is important to defend on its own, and I've long argued we must fight for rule of law in Iraq. But fighting Iran requires us to put effort into defending Iraq, too.
Really, Iran is willing to fight Israel to the last Arab. So why should Iranians be less than enthusiastic about killing Iraqis?
