Their Whining Makes It Special

Al Qaeda admits they are at war with us:

"The blood of the sheik (al-Awlaki) and his brothers will not go in vain; there are heroes behind him who do not sleep under oppression, and they will retaliate soon," the group said. "We and the Americans are at war: we get them and they get us, and the end is for those who are patient - they are the ones who will be victorious."

But they aren't just counting on their superior patience (although after a decade of us fighting, I'm sure they are a little unsettled that we didn't get tired of beating them about the head and shoulders by about 2004). No, they count on our laws to cripple our war effort:

Al-Qaeda has also criticized the Obama administration for killing U.S. citizens, saying doing so “contradicts” American law.

“Where are what they keep talking about regarding freedom, justice, human rights and respect of freedoms?!” the statement says, according to a translation by SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors jihadist Web sites.

Yeah, they thought they found a loophole in our war on terror: use and American citizen! Whoever came up with that surely got a corner cave as a reward. But our outreaching, Nobel Peace Prize-winning president with the middle name "Hussein" killed Awlaki with a drone strike anyway. Their loophole is road kill on the highway.

Count al Qaeda among the legion of former supporters who feel betrayed by unkept promises of hope and change.
