I Salute You

I was not aware that French General Marcel Bigeard passed away on June 18th at the age of 94. Among other things, he led the French forces at Dien Bien Phu in the First Indochina War. His passing is marked here. He was a true warrior.

I commented briefly on that battle here, paying tribute to the French who damned well could have won that battle. I did not know that Bigeard still lived when I wrote that post.
