Fueling the Fire

For a long time, the insurgencies in Iraq seemed to only need the importation of foreign jihadis for the more brutal suicide tactics the enemy uses. Money looted from the Baathis regime initially provided all the money they needed. Of late, crime and corruption have provided the insurgents and terrorists with money. As for weapons, loads of Saddam-era munitions made importing weapons pointless.

Money may still come from inside Iraq, but it seems (tip to Instapundit) as if at least some weapons have to be imported:

U.S. officials say they have found smoking-gun evidence of Iranian support for terrorists in Iraq: brand-new weapons fresh from Iranian factories. According to a senior defense official, coalition forces have recently seized Iranian-made weapons and munitions that bear manufacturing dates in 2006.

I think we know what to ask Iran to do to help us solve that whole Iraq violence problem that our Left seems to think is our fault.

Can we destroy the Iranian regime now?

Or at least recognize they wage war on us? I'll take any small step toward realism when dealing with Iran.
