Ka Ching!

Ukraine might have freed themselves from dangerous dependency on Russian energy until Russia took Crimea?

Well, who could have seen this coming?

Russia's annexation of Crimea has also given it massive new maritime holdings and with it, access to a ton of fuel reserves. ...

According to analysts, the area is worth trillions and is bigger than Maine. (Naturally, Russia denies they were interested in the offshore holdings, saying there is “no connection” between the two.)

Still, this could work out okay for Ukraine if they add this value of Crimea to the bill that Kiev presents to Moscow for illegally taking Crimea and those waters associated with the land mass.
