Squashed Like a Bug

The president swatted a bug while giving an interview on CNBC, and PETA is outraged:

The group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wants the flyswatter in chief to try taking a more humane attitude the next time he's bedeviled by a fly in the White House.

PETA is sending President Barack Obama a Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher, a device that allows users to trap a house fly and then release it outside.

Really, this it outrageous. No dialog with the flies? No UN resolution? He just smashed it like a bug? What about a fair trial? But no, the president just snuffed it out like a Predator circling a puppy mill/orphanage in Pakistan. And then he swaggered with his bring 'em on attitude:

"That was pretty impressive, wasn't it? I got the sucker."

I'm sure this is all a giant ruse by Big Fly Paper to gain a government pest control contract. Obama Lied! Flies Died!

I'm sure on days like this, even the president is a little depressed that he is a liberal with allies like PETA.

On the bright side, the president sent the Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher to DARPA to see if it can be adapted to human use so that the military can catch Taliban terrorists without having to kill them, too.
