A Walk in the Park

As we note reasons for the "green on blue" attacks against our troops in Afghanistan and work to minimize them, let's not forget that the vast majority of Afghan security forces are out there fighting with us:

Every day, thousands of cars, buses and highly-decorated trucks travel Afghanistan's Highway 1, the ring road that connects the country's largest and most populated cities. The 300-mile stretch of road between Kabul and Kandahar is the main focus of the area's Afghan National Security Forces and Battle Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, Task Force 173rd.

Our parachute company works with an infantry company and weapons company from the Afghan army. I suppose this is the walking part of "crawl, walk, run."

The ring road is an important part of our strategy.
