Common Ground

Rouhani of Iran wants better relations with the West despite Ahmadinejad's tenure.

I'm not sure how we can bridge the gap when we say we don't want Iran to get nuclear weapons capabilities and Iran denies having any intention of getting nuclear weapons.

But Rouhani clearly has a common bond with President Obama--they both blame their foreign policy problems on their predecessor:

"We are striving to avoid new burdens on relations between Iran and the United States and also to remove the tensions that we have inherited," said Rouhani, who has promised to reduce Tehran's isolation and to win an easing of sanctions.

Yeah, our president can totally understand Rouhani on this issue. I see the basis of a beautiful friendship.
