Plan B for Turkey

By siding with Hamas, Turkey has endangered the security ties that they have with Israel. Well, I think we may have a reason that Turkey was so vocal in arranging the floating ambush they sprung off of Gaza--Turkey had a Plan B (from my Jane's email updates):

Turkey and Saudi Arabia signed a framework agreement on 24 May in Ankara to co-operate on military training, scientific research and technological development.

Which is interesting on more than just the Israel-Turkey question. Turkey seems to be moving toward accomodating Iran, yet military cooperation with Saudi Arabia seems likely to have an anti-Iran character, more than anything else.

So what gives? What game is Turkey playing here?
