Talk to the Butt

The Russians are protesting our planned shoot-down of our dead satellite that is going to come down soon. Said their defense minister:

The Pentagon failed to provide "enough arguments" to back its plan to smash the satellite next week with a missile, Russia's Defense Ministry said in a statement.

"There is an impression that the United States is trying to use the accident with its satellite to test its national anti-missile defense system's capability to destroy other countries' satellites," the ministry said.

I'm sure we'll refer this to an Under Secretary for Something or Other over at State and give their opinion all due consideration.

And then we'll shoot the satellite down. The Russians are confused if they think we need to argue with them over this. We're simply going to do it. They're free to hold their breath and throw a tantrum or do whatever Russians do nowadays to show extreme displeasure. Don't care.

If Russian generals wet their pants when they see this shot, well, I guess we're into bonus territory.

The Russians stopped being our friend. Yet they remain militarily insignificant. So I don't pay them much attention these days. Good luck to them with that whole Chinese border thing.
