RIP 38

May Gerald R. Ford rest in peace. His sense of duty was inspiring.

He may not have had much time to be president, but I believe he had time enough to restore enough faith in our country to put us on the path to victory in the Cold War.

From our nadir of the withdrawal from South Vietnam and the fall of Saigon, his integrity almost single-handedly pulled us out of our defeatism and allowed us to celebrate our Bicentennial with pride and confidence in the future of our nation. That optimism is justified.

I thank President Ford for that contribution to our country in his short tenure as our 38th president.

I was waiting for the resolution to be introduced rather than comment before.
