The fact that Trump could (legally and with no Constitutional crisis in sight) fire Comey almost assuredly indicates that Comey had nothing damning on Trump. If Comey did, Trump wouldn't have dared fire Comey.

The fact that both parties have reason to dislike how Comey has handled himself should make this one of the few decisions liberals and conservatives can join together in supporting.

But no, liberals have jammed that dial to 11 once again. These people are blinded by their Trump Hysteria Condition.

Seriously, listen to Colbert's audience cheer the news of the firing and then boo when told Trump's attorney general recommended it. Way to demonstrate independent thought, guys!

Of course, ever the optimist, I call this progress. Trump used to be Hitler. But since Trump merely fired Comey rather than execute him, perhaps the fantasy of the new Hitler is fading from the fever swamps.
