A leaked U.S. diplomatic memo says Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki accused Iran and Syria of arming insurgents in September 2009.
Um, yeah. It has been going on for years. Iran and Syria essentially invaded Iraq with their proxy forces from the west (al Qaeda and Baathists) and east (Sadrists as well as some support for al Qaeda).
Iran and Syria have and continue to work to kill our troops, Iraqi troops, and Iraqi civilians. They still want to win this war and haven't given up.
I hope we still want to win, and don't pretend that the war is over and we can safely walk away from Iraq.
