When Near

So-called analysts are buying the Chinese charm offensive that portrays China as far from wanting war with Taiwan:

The threat of conflict between Taiwan and China is becoming increasingly remote, analysts say, but investors still face a range of political risks.

Uh huh.

The Taiwanese military isn't as deluded and knows quite well that China is indeed near:

"Despite the easing of tensions across the Strait, China has not reduced its military deployment targeting Taiwan," the defence ministry said in its annual report.

Are "analysts" really so gullible that they believe China's smiles negate their still-proclaimed goal of absorbing Taiwan and China's military build up across from Taiwan?
