Too Important to Abandon

We need local Afghans to defeat the Taliban and prevent al Qaeda from regaining a foothold in Afghansitan.

So when incidents like this happen, remember that our enemies want us to condemn all the Afghans who wear our side's uniforms:

An Afghan policeman opened fire on British soldiers in the volatile southern province of Helmand, killing five before fleeing, British and Afghan authorities said Wednesday, raising concerns about discipline within the Afghan forces and possible infiltration by insurgents.

Don't fall for their ploys. The Taliban want us to distrust the majority of our loyal allies so our distrust will drive them to support the jihadis.

Soldier on, with our local allies at our side who will kill far, far more of the enemy than will ever kill our guys, and who will ultimately be the force that wins the war.

And if it makes you feel better, far more of the enemy die from their own people fingering fellow jihadis who then die in our ambushes, raids, and air strikes.

This is just the way the war works.
