Hah! Not So Paranoid After All, Eh?

Chinese phones are being removed from military exchanges:

The Pentagon is moving to halt the sale of phones made by Huawei Technologies Co. and ZTE Corp. in retail outlets on U.S. military bases around the world, citing potential security threats they say the devices could pose.

This isn't a ban on their ownership or use, but does make it more inconvenient to get one.

You may recall that I worried that China would try to slip altered Chinese-made phones into the hands of American sailors to help target American aircraft carriers (you would need to click through to older posts).

My worry was that the Chinese kill chain might be shorter than we hope, and so offer fewer chances to interrupt Chinese attacks on our carriers at sea.
