Ah, Smart Diplomacy!

You see, this can make total sense when we develop a reputation of screwing our friends while cozying up to enemies:

The US has a new friend in the region: Iran

A calculated strategic swap of allegiances as Iran replaces Saudi Arabia as the United States' favoured regional ally?

Such a scenario can be raised in Al Jazeera because our Secretary of State is too busy negotiating pointless carbon deals with China rather than dealing with our allies in the Middle East where fighting rages.

No better friend and no worse enemy is the reputation we should have. But we'll try the opposite for a little longer, I'll guess.
