Today in History

Just so you know, today is the 70th Anniversary of the day that General Dwight D. Eisenhower Tweeted #StandWithOccupiedFrance, complete with a serious but sad-faced selfie, in order to eject the German occupiers.

Wait. What?

Oh yeah, he ordered a massive Allied armada of 5,000 ships to land 160,000 Allied troops backed by 13,000 aircraft in what he feared could be a suicidal failure if things went wrong.

Once on the ground, the invasion force kicked ass and took names.

So we actually liberated Nazi-occupied France and other points east during the drive into Germany.

But really, what difference does that make, anyway?
