Lavrov is a piece of work in discussing Ukraine:
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Washington should pressure Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to reach a deal during his planned visit to the U.S. later this month.
"It is imperative to moderate the 'party of war' in Kiev, and the only one who can really do that is the U.S.," Mr. Lavrov said at a briefing Tuesday, according to the Interfax news agency. "It is very important the U.S. uses its influence and capabilities to give the signals necessary to transition to the political process from attempts to solve the situation by force."
Russia has invaded Ukraine. They've already annexed Crimea and is trying to pry the eastern portion of Ukraine away from Kiev.
Kiev's military forces have admirably rallied to fight back against the monsters from the steppe invading their land.
Yet Lavrov has the nerve to insist that we rein in Kiev's efforts to defend themselves?
I say it is imperative to help Ukrainian troops kill Russian soldiers. Intelligence, training, and help putting Ukraine's Russian-built arsenal into shape should be high priorities.
And I'd help Ukraine get Harpoon or Exocet missiles to target Russia's fleet in the Black Sea and put their surface-to-surface missiles into shape to bombard Sevastopol naval base in Crimea.
Do this and we might moderate the party of war--Putin and his loyal minion Lavrov. I do believe we are the only one who can really do that, as Lavrov said.
