Thunder Run II?

If it is true that 2,500 ISIL terrorists are waiting inside Baghdad for ISIL forces outside of the capital to assault the city, the Iraq Crisis could get even more bloody.

If the Iraqi government forces keep their heads, they can beat such an uprising even if Sunni Arabs in the capital join them; and even if a significant number of ISIL from the north and west manage to attack the city from the outside.

Really, an attack like that requires the collapse of the defenders to work.

Unfortunately, since the Iraqi security force collapsed in the Mosul region, I can't be absolutely sure that something like that can't happen in Baghdad.

If the Iraqi troops and security forces shatter, we'll need those extra troops we sent to Iraq to defend our embassy.

And the Marines afloat in CENTCOM and Army troops in Kuwait. And probably the ready brigade of the 82nd Airborne Division.
