Flipping or Appeasing Russia

Biden is working to repair relations with Russia:

Senior diplomats from the United States and Russia held what the State Department described as “substantive and professional” talks on arms control and other strategic issues on Wednesday despite myriad other differences that have sent relations into a tailspin.

The State Department said the discussions in Geneva produced no breakthroughs but said they did yield the minimum for a positive result of such negotiations: an agreement to meet again in the context of talks endorsed by Presidents Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin.

Thank God the media doesn't assume any such diplomacy is proof of Russian-administration collusion.

It makes sense to pry Russia away from China, whether our president is Biden or Trump.

Indeed, I've speculated that perhaps there are hints of sanity breaking out in Russia with the potential of American assistance in cultivating that change.

There is just one possible justification for this American move on  [approving the Russia-Germany Baltic Sea energy] pipeline in light of the broader agenda. If the pipeline issue is designed as a grand American and German gesture to get Russia moving toward turning against China and ending Russia's insane policy of hostility toward NATO.

If Russian leaders aren't too paranoid to do something that makes some damned sense

If Biden flips Russia, I'll salute him. If I am seeing strategy where there is nothing but appeasement, I'll have to question my sanity.
