Venezuela Tackles the Symptoms

Venezuela's Maduro--the gray inept successor to the equally inept but somehow viewed as charismatic Hugo Chavez--is cracking down on the black market:

Authorities mostly turned a blind eye to the informal commerce, but late last month Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro went on TV to decree a ban on street sales of coffee, eggs, shampoo and some 50 other “regulated” items whose prices are capped by the government. He ordered the National Guard to police market stalls for such items as mayonnaise and powdered milk, and threatened to prosecute recidivist violators.

Remember that Hugo wanted to replace Cuba as the lion of the downtrodden in Latin America, to lead the Axis of El Vil.

With Venezuela getting poorer and more authoritarian, that result is on the way.

I know. It's hard to believe that things could be working out so badly in this oil-rich nation when the economic system was designed by this man:

Even the parrot was trying to pretend it was elsewhere.

I'm just saying that if we were plotting against Venezuela the way those leftist fools insist, our entire plot would be to put Hugo and then Maduro in power.
