It's bad enough that for months before the September 11 attack our diplomats in Libya asked for more protection and that we ignored intelligence warnings that the consulate was in danger.
But close to a month after the attack, we still haven't secured the consulate site:
The Washington Post reports today that “more than three weeks after attacks in this city killed the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans, sensitive documents remained only loosely secured in the remains of the U.S. mission here on Wednesday, offering visitors easy access to delicate details about American operations in Libya.”
A month after the first 9/11, we pulled together an invasion of Afghanistan. A month after this 9/11, we haven't even swept up the sensitive documents from the consulate wreckage.
Isn't it time for this administration to admit we are at war and that it isn't their choice to "responsibly" end it?
