Can We All Play This Game?

It strikes me that the whole embassy-burning crisis is an example of privatizing warfare.

The Islamists claim that they have a right to be angry at America because a private person in America made a video that portrays Islam poorly. (And mindless thuggery doesn't make Islam look bad? Just wondering.)

And our government accepts that a private dispute is the cause of this crisis and that it is understandable that groups of angry people can gather to wage war on our embassies.

I assume the Islamists and our government will be understanding if any of our people decide to embark on their own foreign policy and wars against states or groups they don't like.
