You Took My Island. Prepare to Die

Could Argentinian President Kirchner really want to make another try at capturing and holding the Falklands?

In recent months, Cristina Kirchner, Argentina’s president, has taken a steadily more belligerent stance over the issue of the Falkland Islands.

Well, with Britain's fleet and armed forces continuing to decline, we might be near the point when Britain couldn't mount an attack without running serious risks to their fleet. Whatever Britain commits to the flotilla will be pretty much all they have.

And with Argentina feeling more secure with regional allies and an American administration that has stiff-armed Britain and said nice things about Argentina's position on the islands, Argentina might believe they can win a new war.

With Britain laying up their Invincible class carriers, they'll need to rely on HMS Inconceivable as their only line of defense. We'll see if that word means what Kirchner thinks it means.
