This is Unacceptable

Did the Chesapeake Affair teach us nothing about sending warships to sea that aren't in fighting trim? Apparently not.

I mentioned the Navy maintenance issue a week ago. Strategypage has more:

The new commander (CNO, or Chief of Naval Operations) of the U.S. Navy has warned Congress that the navy has to get more money, or less work, otherwise the force will fall apart.

If we don't fix this problem, one day an American warship which is unprepared to defend itself will be defeated in a confrontation with another power's navy.
