Where the Rebels Are

News that reminds us that a ceasefire that leaves Khaddafi in power will leave a lot of people on the wrong side of whatever line is drawn:

A Libyan rebel leader said Thursday that opposition forces have control of a post on the Tunisian border near a former rebel-held town, which could open a new channel for anti-government forces in Moammar Gadhafi's bastion in western Libya.

But I think this is what will happen. And notwithstanding UNSC 1973, nothing will be done to stop the post-war loyalist retribution campaign as long as Khaddafi quietly arrests and disappears dissidents on his side of the line. There are limits to our compassion.
