Never say die, I guess. Despite the likely loss of Ukraine to pro-Russian elements in the upcoming runoff election, NATO still thinks Ukraine is moving West (from my Jane's email updates):

Ukraine commits to NATO Response Force
The announcement was made during a meeting of military chiefs from NATO and other states contributing to the ongoing mission in Afghanistan. According to the Chairman of NATO's Military Committee, Admiral Giampaolo Di Paolo, Ukraine will provide "useful niche capabilities" to the NATO Response Force (NRF)[.]

Give it the old college try, I say. But let's check back with Kiev in a week to see how that contribution is viewed.
