Sending a Message

Vice President Cheney had Iran in mind when he spoke to American sailors in the Persian Gulf aboard one of our carriers out there:

"We'll stand with others to prevent Iran from gaining nuclear weapons and dominating this region," said Cheney.

And:

"We'll stands with our friends in opposing extremism and strategic threats. We'll disrupt attacks on our own forces," Cheney said. U.S. officials have said that some of the sophisticated roadside bombs used against U.S. troops in Iraq have come from Iran.

Let me just say that destroying the mullah regime would help protect our friends from extremism, disrupt attacks on our forces, and stop Iran's mullahs from going nuclear.

And our friends surely will feel less jittery if they feel we can defend the oil lanes out of the Gulf to deflect mullah counter-attacks until they are history.

I sure hope a revolt is in the works inside Iran.
