Perspective

Victor Hanson again asks people to have a little perspective on our Iraq war effort:

The high-stakes war to stabilize the fragile democracy in Iraq is a serious, costly and controversial business. But so have been most conflicts in American history. We need a little more humility and knowledge of our past — and a lot less hysteria, name-calling and obsession with our present selves.

I am continually amazed that so many people think that a war in which an enemy resists is somehow hopeless. Not every war is like Kosovo where we are virtually the only ones shooting.

We are winning this war in Iraq despite the best efforts of some to strangle our war effort and insure a loss that they know we will get and deserve.

But oh no, never question their patriotism.
