Game of Tweets

I see that the cut-throat and bloody world of Game of Thrones was insufficiently ruthless to prepare one actor for the Hell that is a Red Tweeting:

A debate over whether it’s racist for white actor Finn Jones to play a martial arts character became so furious that the Game of Thrones actor decided to drop off Twitter to avoid further attack.

Jones came under fire for defending his role in Marvel’s Iron Fist, an upcoming TV series on Netflix. He was accused of insensitivity towards Asians for playing a white man proficient in martial arts.

Jones, a straight actor best known for his role as the gay character Loras Tyrell in Game of Thrones, is headlining the comic book-based show Iron Fist. Its detractors claim that Jones’ role takes away opportunities for non-white actors.

This whole cultural appropriation business is one of the most unintentionally hilarious aspects of politically correct modern liberalism.

Back in "white man's burden" days when the bloody wogs had nothing of value worthy of emulation or use to a proper Westerner, such a refusal to adopt or adapt foreign traditions, foods, or customs would have been based on racist condescending dismissal of the value of foreign cultures.

Now the refusal to adopt or adapt foreign traditions, foods, or customs is the height of respect for other cultures.

Truly, the stupid is spreading like wildfire.
