The Usual Suspect

I know that the media and Hillary supporters (I use "and" for the theoretical location of a Venn diagram where the former mostly subset of the latter could extend almost imperceptibly beyond the set boundary of the latter) are outraged at the Trump "lie" that Hillary Clinton started the birther controversy back in 2008.

While it is true that there is no evidence that Hillary Clinton herself started the rumor, just who in the world do you think started it during the Democratic primary contest between Hillary and Barack Obama? Ralph Nader, perhaps?

Given the record of Clinton's 2008 primary campaign, this isn't so much a Trump "lie" as the usual Clinton defense that "there is no evidence" of their guilt.

The circumstantial evidence (tip to Instapundit) is significant, you must admit.
