Missile Test Fail

On Monday, North Korean ballistic missiles splashed into the sea near Japan. Thank goodness North Korea didn't fire these missiles at Japan:

On Monday, the defense ministry could not detect the three ballistic missiles North Korea fired until they landed west of Hokkaido in Japan's exclusive economic zone.

Apparently, since the missiles were launched from mobile launchers, the Japanese didn't anticipate the launch to deploy missile defense systems.

Note to Japan: Don't count on the North Koreans to provide advance warning of an attack on Japan (see also: Pearl Harbor).

Also, in early August the Japanese failed to "identify" a missile that landed in Japanese waters.

I'm not sure how North Korea judged their missile tests, but Japan clearly failed them.
