Maybe Allah Is On Their Side

We have an entire Department of Homeland Security with access to databases built from information sucked in from around the world through multi-faceted intelligence methods and allies, with data-mining abilities to sift through this wealth of information to keep jihadis from getting into America to do us harm.

And then a young woman, Tashfeen Malik, made it here to kill Americans in San Bernardino with her co-jihadi husband. How could she possibly run our gauntlet?

Malik's role came under additional scrutiny as investigators found a false address on part of her K-1 visa application, the so-called fiancee visa, that allowed her to enter the United States to marry Farook and become a U.S. resident.

Our government apparently didn't catch the false address in Pakistan she listed on her application or other possible signs that she was radicalized or an operative,” said Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa), who chaired the Senate hearing. [emphasis added]

Just what kind of evil jihadi Bond movie-villain masterminds are we facing in this Long War against Islamist jihadis?

Confronted with the might of our government, our civilian security bureaucracy, and the vast array of data we have collected to sift people coming here, Malik cleverly did an end run around all of our procedures by giving our people a false address.

And that worked.

I mean, seriously. WTF.

UPDATE: We're so screwed.
