A Mullah Dog Whistle?

Iran is not constrained in defending themselves, according to their president, Hassan Rouhani:

"With regards to our defensive capability, we did not and will not accept any limitations," Rouhani said at a press conference carried on live television.

"We will do whatever we need to do to defend our country, whether with missiles or other methods."

One wonders what "other methods" Rouhani is referring to which might encourage the so-called "hardliners" (my definition: Iranians so hard line that they are unwilling to even pretend to not have nuclear weapons ambitions) to approve the nuclear deal.

UPDATE: Senator Kerry starts his argument Wednesday morning in favor of the nuclear deal by warning how advanced Iran already was in reaching nuclear weapons.

I think he sincerely believes that his smart diplomacy convinced Iran to abandon what they have pursued for so long and at such high cost.

You can tell that he can figuratively taste the Nobel Peace Prize he dreams of getting for this farcical deal.
