Defining Victory

This article on the nuclear "victory" for the president celebrates the central achievement:

[Having] secured a landmark nuclear deal with Iran, he has achieved a major diplomatic victory that staves off the threat of a military conflict with unforeseeable consequences in an unstable region.

Note that the author nowhere said the deal would prevent Iran from going nuclear.

No, the achievement is that it stops us from attacking Iran's nuclear facilities.

Yes indeed, we have peace for our time.

UPDATE: Note that today is Bastille Day--the culmination of the French Revolution. Now the same can said of the Iranian Revolution.

UPDATE: Let's hope this deal becomes an obvious fraud as quickly as the Syria chemical arms agreement did.

Although note we did nothing about that. So it will provide the template for response, of course.
