They Do Float, I Admit

Funny I thought building a bridge out of them was how you know if they're a witch. But no:

In the not-too-distant future, drivers in Washington state could cross the Sinclair Inlet on a bridge made of two or three decommissioned aircraft carriers. It may sound like a wild pipe dream or a portrait of military dystopia, but the idea is under active consideration by the state, which has received federal funds to study its feasibility.

Three? You just need two--one on each bank so you can launch the cars across with the catapults.

So I guess they'll need more federal money to study the feasibility of attaching tail hooks in lieu of trailer hitches on the back of cars.

Personally, I'd see if the Bridge of Death is for sale.

The feasibility study would only need to determine the answer to 3 or 5 questions, after all. Much cheaper.

How they became so wise in the ways of engineering, we'll never know.
