"I don't think there is unanimity at all for the rollover of sanctions, the sanctions that are due in July," the [European Union] official, briefing reporters on condition of anonymity, said.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said on Friday that new or extended EU sanctions against Russia would not help the ceasefire in eastern Ukraine.
"The ceasefire needs to be supported and we will hardly support it by saying that we will bring some new and further and further sanctions," Fico said in Prague.
Support the ceasefire?
Europeans are supposed to be supporting Ukraine.
Given the last two "ceasefires," Russia's clear purpose in agreeing to them is to gain more territory from Ukraine and then use the ceasefire to rearm their sock puppets and establish a new baseline of what is Russia's land and what is Ukraine's.
Russia has Crimea. Russia has a chunk of the Donbas region.
Russia wants more. The sanctions should stay.
But what the Hell. The Sudetenland was really just a Czech problem and not a Slovakian problem, right?
